Crowns and bridges
A crown strengthens a weak tooth by encasing it with either porcelain or metal in order to protect the tooth from further decay. The crown is colour matched to your existing teeth so that it is nearly impossible to see any difference after the procedure is complete.
A crown is also used when:
- A tooth needs a large filling
- To replace old and discoloured fillings
- To hold a denture
All the crowns we make are carefully made using dental impressions and images in order to get you the best looking teeth. Once measurements are taken and inserted in to your mouth we will make sure that surrounding gums are in good condition and your newly inserted crown is able to serve you long and well without any difficulty.
Orthodontics (braces)
Orthodontics is the procedure that alters the positioning of teeth in order to achieve overall good dental health. A carefully planned movement of the teeth would enable the patient to bite food evenly and give evenly placed teeth.
One of the major benefits of orthodontics is to move teeth that do not have the correct positioning with the jaw. Therefore, crooked teeth will be moved to achieve the flawless smile you always longed for.
Dentures and implants
As we get old our physical body start to lose its strength and our teeth are no exception for this inevitable fact. Some of us experience the falling of teeth at an early stage even though we are still physically fit and have no obvious signs of aging. In particular, some patients experience tooth falling, loose teeth and cavities as soon as they pass mid age. The most common and practical solution for this to have a denture in order to give you confidence and peace of mind wherever you go. Our technicians and dentists can carefully create dentures for patients of all ages and varied requirements. Please call 03 5996 3164 for more information.
A dental implant is used to replace the root of the tooth so that the crown can sit on the newly placed metal implant. These are surgically inserted into the jawbone when a tooth is missing in order to fill the gap.
Wisdom teeth removal
The wisdom tooth start to grow around the ages of 16 to 23 after all the adults teeth have fully formed. There are four wisdom teeth that grown in the corners of the mouth. If you experience sever pain from your wisdom tooth or have any discomfort in that area you may need professional help in order to put things right.
The main reason behind the problems with wisdom teeth is that they sometimes do not emerge straight causing pain to the gum. Also, in certain instances, the tooth does not emerge at all or immerge partially causing problems and discomfort.
Root canal treatment
When there is an infection at the centre of a tooth a root canal treatment or endodontics is carried out to remove the bacteria that causes unhealthy teeth. This bacteria will cause the tooth to decay which usually happens due to aging, after a fall or leaky fillings.
A soft tissue called the dental pulp is filled at the centre of every tooth. The root canal extend from the crown of each tooth to its end which is known as the root. It is worth noting that a single tooth can contain more than one root canal system.
General Dentistry
From oral hygiene to fillings and implants Cranbourne Dental provides all the care you need to maintain perfect oral health. With highly sophisticated tools along with the use of advanced techniques in dentistry we can make sure your teeth are clean, strong and white.
Above all, as a family practice there is no need for the kids (or even the adults!) to be scared when they visit Cranbourne Dental.
Teeth Whitening / Laser
Discoloured teeth can have a big impact on our confidence and ultimately affect the way we smile. The common causes for discoloured teeth include:
- Smoking
- Foods we eat
- Hard water
The stains on teeth can be removed with a procedure known as teeth whitening in order to give you pure white teeth. Our simple and effective treatments can remove all the stains from your teeth and bring the teeth back to life by removing the dull yellow stains.
There are plenty of teeth whitening options available and it all depends on the severity of your problem. Please feel free to give us a call on 03 5996 3164 to find out what’s best for you.
